CAV Takes Security Seriously

CAV is sensitive to the security concerns of its customers and clientele. We would like you, our customer, to have a pleasant and worry-free experience, so CAV has carefully developed a shopping environment with safety and security in mind.

No Tolerance - Fraud Policy

Bad Guys - Thinking about Fraud? Don’t Even Try It!

CAV has a NO tolerance fraud policy. At CAV we protect our customers and our business, and fraud is not taken lightly. We consider fraud to be a serious threat. Any efforts to defraud will be will prosecuted, however possible, to the fullest extent of the law. Currently, we do not conduct business outside of the United States, primarily for this reason.

  1. Credit card information is securely encrypted when sent to the banking network for proper authorization. We do not store our customer’s full credit card information.
  2. We track the originating IP address of all transactions so that your Internet Service Provider (ISP) can be determined so as to pursue prosecution of any fraudulent activity.
  3. Credit card fraud or identity theft is a federal crime, which is punishable by jail time, fines, or even more severe penalties. Actions will be asserted when attempts are made. The actions include the recovery of civil compensation and costs including criminal prosecution.
  4. All credit card information that is provided for any purchase will be verified through the banking network to determine if it matches the credit card issuing bank’s information on file. Any attempts to intentionally provide false information will be construed as fraud and the parties involved may be subject to prosecution.

CAV’s Efforts to Create a Safe and Secure Shopping Experience

Safe Ordering Practices

  1. Print the Order Summary Screen (your receipt) and keep it for your records.
  2. When you receive your order, please check it carefully to ensure that you received what you had ordered.
  3. When you receive your order, check it to be sure that it is not damaged. If possible, do so before signing for it, in front of the delivery person.
  4. Do not send any personal information or payment information via e-mail.
  5. Keep all e-mail responses about the status of your order.

How does CAV process an order?

Payment Systems

CAV uses both PayPal and PayPal merchant services to process your credit card transaction. Once your payment information is entered, it is sent securely encrypted to the PayPal service for approval, and your full credit card number is not stored in our databases. You may note that we use an SSL (Secure Socket Layer) with your browser so that your transaction is as secure as possible. You can see the locked padlock in your browser to confirm this when you checkout in our secure area.

Transaction Monitoring

In addition to CAV internal efforts to create a safe shopping experience for our customers, our payment processing services, such as PayPal, also monitors transactions for suspicious activity and unusual events with regard to purchases with your credit account.

Identity Verification

As part of our efforts to establish safe transactions, CAV may ask to you to verify your identity via telephone with one of our representatives. This practices facilitates the prevention of fraudulent activities.

Personal Information

Your personal information is not shared with anyone. If you choose to do so, information such as your e-mail address may be used by CAV only to offer you various types of information, such as sales, special product offerings, new technical articles, etc.

Mailing Address

Credit card orders require that the mailing address be the same as that of the cardholder (i.e. the address where the credit card bill is sent). This information is referenced before the order is processed. If you desire to have another address to which orders can be sent, please contact your bank and have them place the additional address on file. (DC: this is confusing, since we allow separate shipping address which does not have to match the billing address)

Order Delivery

The shipping and routing details of orders placed with CAV can be tracked through their respective shipping company (such as UPS, Fed-Ex, etc.) We provide tracking numbers for this purpose when an order is shipped. If you need help understanding how to track your order, or would like more information, please contact CAV or the shipping company that you had specified with your order.

Phone Number Validation

CAV requires that a valid phone number be provided when ordering. This should be a phone number where the ordering party can be reached. Phone numbers are commonly verified, and purchases confirmed. Phone numbers are used for order processing or pursuit of fraud (if necessary). They are NOT used for telemarketing or any other purpose, so rest-assured.

Customer IP Address

CAV will record the IP address (the computer’s address on the Internet, and the Internet service provider being used) of your computer when a purchase is made.
